This Web site reports on the Study on the effect on the development of the Information society of European public bodies making their own software available as open source.
This study was awarded by the European Commission to a group of three working partners:
- MERIT
Website access and membership are free of charge and the quality of the content is dependant not only on the the work of the partners, but also on the quality of the public sector Open Source community's contributions.
This Portal application is an example of integrating various existing open source software (or free software) components for building an e-Government public sector application providing information to the European Union governments, enterprises and citizens. We thank the Open Source/Free Software communities for their contribution.
